Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad
Installation

Installation was trouble free following the multi-lingual instruction booklet. A troubleshooting guide was also included, should any other problems occur. The software must be installed first; otherwise the game pad will be incorrectly recognized. Once the software is installed, you are prompted to connect the receiver. When the receiver is plugged in, install the batteries and hit a button on the controller. Hitting any button turns the controller on. Diagnostic LED's on the controller will flash as the controller locates the receiver and synchronizes. When synchronized, the LED on the receiver will change from flashing to solid. Then you are ready to play! The controller employs an auto-off feature, so if no buttons are pressed within 2 minutes and 15 seconds, the controller will turn itself off to save battery power. There are two game pad function buttons which are only used to control the operation of the game pad. One is the Mode button which switches between the D-pad and the left mini-stick. The other is the Rumble button which simply switches rumble on or off. Ideally, you will get longer battery life with rumble turned off. One more feature worthy of note is the Logitech WingMan Profiler. This small program which runs in the toolbar allows you to quickly change profiles for games. You select the game profile of the game which you wish to play, assign all the buttons to game specific functions, and then click play. While handy for users who might not want to configure the game controls within the game itself, I quickly found myself ignoring the profiler, except when I wanted to change some game pad setting. Also, new game profiles must be downloaded from the internet, which in my opinion, is more of a hassle than it is worth.
