Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad
Introduction & At a Glance

Introduction:

I have always had a great respect for Logitech products, especially their mice. When I could no longer stand the inferior quality of my 4-button game pad, Logitech was the first place I turned to. After looking at their wide variety of WingMan brand controllers and reading mostly good things, I decided to go all out and purchase the Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad. This game pad is the best that Logitech has to offer, including 2.4GHz wireless operation AND rumble functionality. As this was my first experience with a product offering both features in the same package, I was a bit skeptical, but non-the-less excited.

At a Glance:

This game pad is feature rich and offers dual analog mini-sticks, an eight-way D-pad, 11 programmable buttons (7 front, 4 top), a nifty throttle, and a rumble feature powered by dual motors. The wireless operation is achieved by a small 2.4GHz receiver which connects to your computer via USB port. It contains an active connection LED and a synchronization button used to re-synchronize the game pad with the receiver. Out of the box, the gray and translucent-blue game pad is noticeably large and quite heavy. I enjoyed the spacious feeling and layout of the buttons, but I may be biased with my giant man claws of hands. I could imagine that this game pad may be too large for smaller handed users, mainly when reaching from the front to top buttons. The weight of the controller may also be an issue. Personally, I felt that the weight added to the solidarity of the controller. It did not feel flimsy, and I certainly wouldn't want to throw it to the ground when I lost, as I would commonly do with my old controller. The weight is not so burdensome as to be debilitating to game play, but it maybe a consideration for some users.
