Spire Fourier II
Introduction

Introduction:

Today up for review, we have an offering in the cooling market care of Spire, The Fourier II CPU cooler. Special thanks to Jin at Spire for sending us this product.

The Fourier II's cooling muscle is provided by its near silent fan and its four heat pipes running from up from its copper base. The cooler is compatible with the LGA775, AM2, and K8 sockets. The unit is sturdy and has a good look to it, it's also fairly lightweight.

Some specifications on the Fourier II from the Spire site.

Dimensions
Heat sink - 104×137×126 mm
Fan - 120×120×25 mm
Bearing - Ball bearing
Rated speed - 1500 RPM +/-10%
Rated power - 3.0 W
Noise level - 16.0 dBA
Air flow - 52.05 CFM at 1,500RPM +/-10%
Current - 0.25 A
Life hours - Ball: 50.000
Feature - Copper base, 4 Heat-pipes, Aluminum Micro-Fin Heat-sink
Connector - 3pin, mainboard

Installation:

Installing the Fourier II requires you to first attach the correct mounting bracket to the heat sink, unfortunately, none of them are labeled. This is quickly overcome by comparing the size of each bracket versus the screw holes on your motherboard, an easy solution, but one that shouldn’t be needed. Possibly the best feature about the package is not the cooler but rather its back plate, the multi socket back plate is a genius move by Spire to incorporate compatibility for multiple platforms without having to buy extra equipment. Putting the cooler together and installing it is as easy as securing 6 or 8 screws depending on your socket type, and the instructions walk you through every step from start to finish.
