3DMark05 Benchmark Results
The idea behind these results is not to show you just how much better the 8800 GTX is when compared to the 8600 GTS. Rather, the idea is to show you where the limitations of the 8600 GTS are, in terms of Anisotropic and Anti-Aliasing settings. Personally, I rarely turn either of those extra filters on when I game because I don't find them necessary in any game that supports my monitor's native 1920x1200 resolution. I usually max everything else (mip-map Level of Detail, view distance, reflections, shadows, etc.) out, but I rarely use AA or AS filtering.

The first thing that jumped out at me when looking at these results is that no video card with a 128-bit memory bus should be asked to perform anti-aliasing at 1920x1200. It is just too memory intensive a task at this resolution to be practical.
