Personally, I like what HIS has done with their x1650. It's a well performing card with a midrange price tag.
I find that most games run smoother at 1280x1024 than at 1600x1200. But the difference in most games is marginal and my LCD monitor looks blurry when scaling up images,
so I usually splurge and go for the higher setting. Games like Far Cry and Doom 3, however, run noticeably better
at 1280. The new CrossFire design is something I like, also. It's not as bulky as the old implementation and I would
seriously like to try two of these cards in a CrossFire system.
Conclusion:
The HIS X1650 is one of the better cards I've used lately and gives good performance in games running at higher resolutions.
With this I would gladly recommend this card to anyone who is looking for a good performing mid range video card. It does what its supposed to and it does it fairly well. It also comes with some free games and utilities that sweetens the deal.
Pros:
Great performance
cool UV reactive cooler
Internal CrossFire
Cons:
dual slot cooler
Only one DVI to VGA dongle
