The card itself is very nice and sturdy in design, fits well in a case and looks just plainly amazing with its UV reactive cooling hood. One of the things I like most about the card is ATI's new internal CrossFire system that does away with the huge external dongle used in earlier systems. The card comes bundled with some software, notably the first Dungeon Siege game. Along with a HDTV cable, an S-video to RCA video adapter and a DVI to VGA adapter. Wait! ONLY ONE?! Yes, those of you who have dual analog monitors are left out in the cold.
Installation:
Installation is just as basic as any other VGA card; uninstall old drivers, remove power, take out old card, put in new card, add power, install drivers, play games. Simple.
Testing:
For the official testing phase of this review I'm using 3DMark05, Far Cry, Doom3, and some other games. My test system has had this card installed for one week prior to testing to ensure it was stable with the test system.
3DMark05 was run using the following settings:
1024x768 No AA, NO as
1024x768 4x AA 4x AS
1280x1024 No AA, NO as
1280x1024 4x AA 4x AS
1600x1200 No AA, NO as
1600x1200 4x AA 4x AS
