Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 PC2-5300
Introduction and Specs

Introduction

Today we will be reviewing a set of memory modules sent by Micron under their Crucial brand. What they sent us to review this time was a kit of 2 1GB DDR2 PC-5300 Ballistix Tracer 240-pin DIMM (with LEDs). They also sent something else, but we will deal with that in another review. Of course, if you look close you may note it in the system specs.

The shipping from Crucial was quick, the only issue that we had was not with either Crucial or myself, but with UPS. So, when I let Kelly at Crucial know about this situation, she got right on it, and within 24hrs she had it resolved with the courier and everything else carried as normal.

Specifications

Module Size 2GB kit (1GBx2)
Package Ballistix Tracer 240-pin DIMM (with LEDs)
Feature DDR2 PC2-5300
Configuration 128Meg x 64
DIMM Type UNBUFFERED
Error Checking NON-ECC
Speed DDR2-667
Voltage 1.9V
Memory Timings 4-4-4-10

Now, as has been stated in previous reviews of ours for DDR2 RAM, the timings look high, but are not as high as they seem in comparsion to the JEDEC specification for DDR.
