Sharkoon SilentEagle 120mm Fan First Glance Inside The Box
As I mentioned way back in the beginning, this fan was sent to me as a pre-production item (don't I feel special ;)), so there wasn't a whole lot in the box, not even the fan cabelling was sleeved. Like you can see in the pictures below, it was just the box, and the fan. No accessories.
Even still, I lucked out. Seeing as I work on computers, I have plenty of extra screws in my cupboard, but even better as my ThermalRight SI-120 uses a retention bracket (not screws) to hold on the fan :)!
For those with their curiousity getting the better of them, if you would like to see some of the contents that come in the box, you can take a look at the review that Jeremy wrote up on Sharkoon's 80mm SilentEagle, over here: http://www.lanaddict.com/rev/174/1/.
First Glance
Upon first glance at the product, I was over excited about the Golf Ball Texture! I don't know anyone else, friends or family, that has one of these babies :)! It was time to show this fan off to the world through the beautiful side window of my Antec PerformanceOne P160W!
Ironically, my wife doesn't have the same views, she thinks it is crazy to put a Golf Ball Texture onto something that is spinning, as you just won't see it. Even still, she approved the exchange, seeing as the SilentEagle is a whopping 9 dB(A) quieter! Anything that takes less power, and doesn't make as much noise is great in her books *laugh*!
The fan itself has a smooth matte black finish. Seeing as it is not a flat finish, it does not hold fingerprints the same way, very nice on Sharkoon's part! The fan itself is white, and very 'bubbly'. Not only do the wings have the Golf Ball Texture, but the motor cap is also rounded! The 3-pin wire on the fan is plenty long, approx 8" - 10" total, and should reach anywhere in your case you need it to go (remember that mine is pre-production and was not sleeved ;)).
