CaseGears Acrylic X-Plug Modular 450 Watt Power Supply
First Glance

First Glance

Now, the time we all love! Let's crack open the box and see what this baby looks like! First off, might I say, that the box looks to be in perfect condition. It is very sturdy, with a sleek shiny black paint job, informative descriptive pictures on all sides, and looks just beautiful! Inside the box, the power supply is nicely packaged in protective bubblewrap, surrounded by the modular cables, and the ac power cable. Surprizingly, there is no users guide or instructions that come with the power supply, even though they are self-explanatory to install it would still be nice.

The power supply itself is nicely assembled, all 6 panels are clear acrylic, and the inside components of the power supply can be seen. I must say that I am a bit of a junkie, and am always curious how things work! This is a first for myself, and was very very cool! Upon careful inspection, the power supply walls are held together by screws, which mount in special grommets that sit in pre-drilled holes. As well, some of the internal cabelling, and the fans are actually hot-glued into place. I don't think that this will pose a problem though, as the hot-glue would not have been used if the power supply was going to heat up enough to melt it!

All of the cables packaged with the power supply are modular, with the exception of the 20+4 pin motherboard connection. Every cable is carefully sleeved in a blue braid, which happens to be uv reactive as well, also matching the blue led fans and uv reactive acrylic casing of the power supply. For those with newer systems, I will note that there is no PCI-Express connector or convertor included with the power supply, so you will have to use the one included with your video card.

The above pictures were taken as the PSU came out of the box for the first time.

The above more detailed pictures are complements of CaseGears themselves.
