Samsung DVD-HD850 UpConversion DVD Player
Introduction

Introduction

Today I have the honour of reviewing Samsung's DVD-HD850 Hi-Def Conversion DVD Player! Samsung has been actively involved in providing people with home theatre components for many years including (but not limited to ;)) Televisions, VCR/DVD Players, and even Audio Equipment. This particular DVD Player is capable of playing DVD-R / DVD-RW / DVD+R / DVD+RW / CD-Audio & SVCD Disks. On top of all of these supported disk types, Samsung has added an extra feature for those with an HDTV compatible TV, and it is a Hi-Def UpConversion! This process takes the normal DVD Video / Audio signal from your disk, leaves it in its origional digital format, UpConverts it to the highest available resolution, and then sends it Hi-Def straight to your TV! On a second note, this ONLY works using the HDMI connection type.

More straight from Samsung: HD Up-conversion is an all-digital process that takes a DVD's signal and converts it to match your HDTV's native resolution. This process eliminates distortion and creates the ultimate picture performance. HDMI is a single cable that transfers uncompressed HD video and audio to your TV. Better then component video, it's your best choice for picture quality and colour accuracy!

Many thanks go out to Eileen at Samsung for sending me this DVD Player for review! Samsung, as amazing as they are, even sent me their 19" LCD / HD-TV / FM Radio Multi-Function Screen to test this player out at all of its fullest potential (seeing as I do not have an HDTV compatible television at home). Lets crack open the box, and check this player out!
