Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 Installation and Testing Inside the Box
What I got the package dropped off at my door, much like a kid in a candy
store I ripped through the customs tape and then the fedex envelope to be
rewarded with a small little box that was very compact in design, but effect at
holding all the materials as well as showing off the design of the fan. Props
for that.
When opening the box, what you find is that the fan is just one of the little
marvels stuffed into the little package. It comes with a nice adapater for both
three and four pin connections to power. It comes with both standard screws, as
well as some specilized rubber "bolts" that would help with vibrational noise.
Installation
Installation was a snap, you could use either the metallic screws that came
with the fan, or the rubber bolts. I tried both, and they both attached the fan
to the case I was using. The cable itself that attachs to the power was nicely
sleeved and long enough that it could be snaked around a few things to try to
keep it out of the way of most other devices such as other fans, and hardware.
As was mentioned in the section about what was inside the box, the fan itself
for power came with a universal power connector. Testing
So I have had the fan installed in my system for the last week or two now,
and the first thing that my Fiancee said was that it was much quieter, her being
the one whom is more noise sensative then myself. I have a total of 4 fans in
the system, normally running at half the rated RPM to keep noise down, but with
this fan I was able to have it going at it's full speed and barely notice a
difference in noise.
The fan itself, because have been able to run it at full speed instead of
half speed has really helped cool the case down some, just a few degree's but in
such a heat sensative enviroment this is quite a bit.
