There is only one way I know to test a new mouse and that is to try doing the same things with it that you did with your previous mouse. In my case, the previous mouse is a Razer Viper, which is also an 800dpi optical mouse.
The Viper is a bit longer than the Blueflame. It is also a bit heavier, although not as much as you might think. Surprisingly, they are about the same width, although the Viper has a millimeter or so more in that dimension than the Blueflame. Both are USB mice, although the Viper will work with a PS/2 adapter while the Blueflame will not. At least, not through my KVM it won't.
Conclusion
I was quite surprised at how well the Blueflame mouse worked! Looking back, I'm not sure why I was surprised, given that both mice are 800dpi, but I was. The Blueflame was just as capable in every way as the Viper. The Blueflame's response time was just as good as the Viper's. The Blueflame tracked was just as well as the Viper, also. The real kicker, though, is the Blueflame's price. You can get one of these shipped to your door for less than $20.00 after adding in shipping! That is a deal that is incredibly hard to beat!
All is not perfect in Blueflame land, however. For me, it was a bit harder to use the Blueflame, as my hands are fairly large and the Blueflame is what I would consider a small mouse. That and not working with my KVM are the only knocks I have against the Sunbeam Blueflame Ergonomic Illuminated Mouse!
