Thermaltake Big Typhoon Universal CPU Heatsink
A Closer Look

Out of the Package

Since you can't get a real good look at the Big Typhoon when it's in its plastic packaging, let's take a look at it after I get it out.

That's a pretty impressive sight, don't you think? Keep in mind that the fan sitting on those aluminum fins is 120mm on a side. For those of you that don't think in metric, that's almost 4.75". The other thing I want you to notice is that the two sets of heatpipes are completely independent of each other. That goes for the fins on the heatpipes, too. The fan shroud and the copper base are all that keeps the Big Typhoon together.

Accessories

You don't get a whole lot of extras with the Big Typhoon, but you do get everything you need to install this bad boy on any of the four current socket types.

Now, those chromed plates have enough holes in them to install on any motherboard you can think of, as long as that motherboard has the four mounting holes on it. If it doesn't, well... you've either got a real pretty paperweight or you need a new motherboard! ;-)

Instructions

Thermaltake was kind enough to not only include an instruction sheet, they included two! One of them is even in full color and printed on both sides. That's because there are separate mounting instructions for each socket type. The last thing Thermaltake wants is to leave you wondering how to get the Big Typhoon to cool your CPU.
