Here are the benchmarks from 3D Mark 2005, Doom III and HL2 on the following system...
Intel LGA775 3.4GHz
1GB of Kingston HyperX DDR400
Asus PDG5 Deluxe
Windows XP Pro SP2
3D Mark 2005
1024x768 4xAA/8xAF = 1503
1280x1024 No AA/AF = 1963
1024x768 No AA/AF = 2751
Doom III
1024x768 4xAA/8xAF = 39.7 FPS
1280x1024 No AA/AF = 57.5 FPS
1024x768 No AA/AF = 75.1 FPS
Half-Life 2 Max Detail (No FA or AA)
1600x1200 = 78.3 FPS
1280x1024 = 98.3 FPS
1024x768 = 100.7 FPS
800x600 = 121.3 FPS
Looking at the benchamarks, what suprised me is that there wasn't a huge drop in performance in HL2 between 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. We can clearly see that the 128MB didn't sacrifice too much performace even at higher resolutions where memory is strained.
