Will you see X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

Yes, but after it's been out a couple of weeks.
Sometime in May
Probably
Maybe
I'll wait for the DVD

Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000
Specs and Testing

Specifications

Here are the official specs for the Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 DDR, straight from the product page on Crucial's Ballistix web site:

Module Specifications:

  • Module Size: 512MB
  • Package: Ballistix Tracer 184-pin DIMM (w\LEDs)
  • Feature: DDR PC4000
  • Configuration: 64Meg x 64
  • DIMM Type: UNBUFFERED
  • Error Checking: NON-ECC
  • Speed: DDR500
  • Voltage: 2.8V
  • Memory Timings: 2.5-4-4-8

Not the most spectacular set of latency timings in the world, are they? That's OK, it's not like we won't try to run the Ballistix Tracer at 2-2-2-5 and see what happens! ;-)

Testing Setup

Here's the system I used to test the Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 on:

Motherboard: MSI 865PE Neo2-PFS
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.6GHz 'C'
Video Card: ATi X800 Pro
Hard Drive: Maxtor 40GB ATA133 7200RPM 2MB cache
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2 with all current patches

I'll be comparing the Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 DDR to Corsair's PC4000 Pro using the Memory Bandwidth and Cache + Memory benchmarks from SiSoftware's Sandra 2005 Professional SP1 testing suite. I'll also be using Bench'emAll! 2.64 to run game benchmarks from Half-Life 2, Painkiller, Doom 3, FarCry, UT2K4, and, of course, Quake III Team Arena.

Except where noted, all hardware is run at its default settings.
