Diskology Disk Jockey

Introduction

One of the biggest pains with PCs is moving to a new hard disk. Not adding another disk, that's easy. I mean moving to a new hard disk altogether. Sure, there are plenty of drive imaging software packages out there that do a decent enough job, but you need to tie up a PC to do it. There are better alternatives available that are faster and do not require a PC. Doskologies Disk Jockey is one of those alternatives. I'd like to thank Tony at Diskology for providing the samples used in this review.

Windows Supported PC/Firewire Hardware

• Virtually any desktop or laptop system with Firewire connection.
• PCs that run versions of Windows OSs that support FireWire as a standard component.
• Pentium300MHz with at least128MB RAM (we recommend the latest BIOS and device drivers be installed)
• For any driver or bundled application installation a CD-ROM or floppy disk drive may be neccessary

Supported Windows Operating Systems

• Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows XP
• Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 98 Orignal Edition are not supported.

Macintosh Firewire Support

• Virtually any Macintosh with a built-in or add-on PCI Firewire bus

Supported Mac OS Versions

• Mac OS 9.1, Mac OS 9.2.1, Mac OS 9.2.2, Mac OS X (10.2 or higher)

• USB 1.1 Connection (Data transfer limited to USB 1.1 specification)

• Windows 98SE/Windows Me/Windows 2000/Windows XP/Mac OS X

Unsupported USB Systems

• Windows 95/Windows 3.x/Windows NT/Mac OS 9.x and earlier are not supported.
• Computers that were sold prior to the release of Windows98 that have USB ports may not operate properly.
• Some laptops featuring the AMD K6 CPU may not be supported at this time.
