Razer's Viper has the highest resolution of any of the three mice in this showdown at 1000dpi. That means I only have to move this mouse a shade over an inch to get across a screen with a resolution of 1024x768! True, you don't have to move an 800dpi mouse much farther, but there are times when that extra fraction of an inch of mouse movement will determine if you live or die.
Here's what Razer has to say about the features of the Viper:
Sleek ergonomic ambidextrous profile - translucent exterior design Two Ultra-large nonslip buttons - Finger tip grip for accurate and precise targeting control Nonslip side rails - performance grip design Ultraslick teflon feet - zero accoustic feedback Gold Plated Max-Conductive USB connector
The Viper only has three buttons, one of which is the scroll wheel. The right and left buttons are very large and have a non-slip surface. The scroll wheel is also large and gives you a very definite feeling of control when you're scrolling in a game or on the Web. It is also an ambidextrous mouse, equally useable by righties or lefties without any hardship.
One other feature of note is the silicon-like side rails on the mouse. These side rails are also non-slip and help provide excellent control of the Viper, no matter how hot and heavy the action gets!
Those two dark pictures are my attempts at getting a shot of the Viper in a dark room. Unfortunately, I don't own a tripod and I was unable to hold the camera steady and move the mouse just a bit to get the red LED to go bright for a picture.
